AHMET ELGINKAN VOCATIONAL AND TECHNICAL TRAINING CENTRE
Opened on 23 December 2006, the “Ahmet Elginkan Vocational and Technical Training Centre” has been established by the Elginkan Foundation to serve the Kocaeli region.
The “Elginkan Foundation” was established in 1985 by the Elginkan Family who created the Elginkan Group of Companies which has been operating in the field of industry for more than fifty years whose well-known trademarks include E.C.A, SEREL and EMAS among others.
In line with the aim of training qualified workforce, the Foundation launched its Vocational and Technical Training Centres Project in 1994. The first training centre “Ummehan Elginkan Vocational and Technical Training Centre” was opened in Manisa in 1994, the second “Elginkan Foundation Vocational and Technical Training Centre” in Bolu in 2003. Since their opening until 31 March 2007, a total of 130.751 persons (114.324 persons in Manisa, 16.427 persons in Bolu) received training at these centres. Trainings are given free of charge and the programmes are carried out under the headings of vocational courses, self-improvement courses and total quality management seminars. The aim is to meet the needs of both the regional industry and the society.
Ahmet Elginkan Vocational and Technical Training Centre, the third training centre of the Elginkan Foundation, was developed on the basis of the Foundation’s experiences in this field and the model it applied. The Centre consists of a total of 4.080 sqm area over an open area of 8.000sqm. There are 2 computer laboratories, various vocational training laboratories (Automatic Control PLC Compensation in Power Circuits, Basic Electronics Digital and Industrial Electronics, Hydraulic-Pneumatic, Combi Boiler Natural Gas and Sanitary Engineering Laboratories), first-aid laboratory, conference room, 8 classrooms, managerial units, dining hall, canteen, archives etc. There is also a welding centre building. Like in the other training centres, trainings are given free of charge.
Currently, courses such as computer, accounting, hydraulic-pneumatic, basic and industrial electronics, digital electronics, natural gas welding, electric arc and oxygen welding, welding with gas, AutoCAD, automatic control are being given. Furthermore, ISO 9001-2000 Quality Management Introduction Seminar, Occupational Health and Safety, Interview Techniques and CV Preparation Seminars were also given. The May 2007 programme includes seminars such as Internal Controller, Logistic Management, ISO 14000 and Effective Communication.
The courses and seminars at this recently opened training centre will be diversified in line with the requirements and demands.
